So, Moses’s mother placed in him a basket and sent him down a river to hide. That is how a Princess, a daughter of the Pharaoh, found baby Moses and took him in as her own.
Now, the Hebrews were held as slaves in Egypt for 400 years and were waiting for the Lord to free them. As Moses grew up into manhood, he was not happy with the way the Hebrew slaves were treated and killed one on the Egyptians who was beating a man. Moses was cast out of Egypt and discovered his true identity was Hebrew.
Moses was commanded by God to free His people from slavery. So, Moses returned to Egypt where the 10 plagues happened. Finally, the Hebrews slaves were let go and they were a free people. But, they were still hunted down by Ramses and that is when then the parting of the Red Sea miracle happened.
As the people of Israel traveled into the Wilderness of Sinai, Moses went up to Mount Sinai were he was given the 10 Commandments from God
And so the story continues and due to the grumbling and sins of the people of Israel they would not enter the promised land for 40 years. In addition, the Bible contains many stories about Moses and the people of Israel in the book of Deuteronomy.
